Attention businesses! On October 1, the Ministry of Environment launches training sessions on MOUs
On October 1, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, in cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), is launching training sessions on monitoring, reporting, and verifying greenhouse gas emissions for plant operators, consultants, verifiers, and other interested parties.
It should be noted that the training courses initiated by the Ministry of Environment are free of charge and are part of Ukraine's climate policy implementation.
Training sessions on MZV will begin on October 1 with an offline kick-off meeting. The training organizers, together with business representatives, will determine the final list of issues that arise for entrepreneurs when collecting relevant information and submitting reports. Experts from the Ministry of Environment will also explain the proposed amendments to the Law on MRV and provide advice on relevant legislation.
During the training sessions, representatives of Ukrainian businesses will be provided with an electronic package containing a collection of legislation on monitoring, reporting, and verification, including the latest amendments.
The training sessions were initiated in connection with changes in ESG legislation that took place in 2023, as well as the absence of mandatory reporting in the relevant field during the war, which led to limited experience of ESG operators. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment decided to organize relevant events to ensure that all stakeholders understand the processes and fulfill their tasks.
Please note that until September 25, the Ministry of Environment continues to collect and process questions regarding MZV from facility operators.
We invite you to join us in identifying the most important issues that require special attention in the relevant areas of the MEA:
- development of monitoring plans, monitoring plans with changes, and their submission for approval;
- development of operator reports and their acceptance;
- verification of reports;
- other issues requiring clarification.
Please fill out the online form with specific questions that arise during the implementation of the requirements of the Law of Ukraine “On the Principles of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Emissions.”
